Stop Opening Blank Window

Is there a setting to tell VW 2008 to not open a blank window when I switch to it and there is no current window open? I'm pretty sure I put this on the wish list when I was a young man, and that's a while ago!

Nope. But you can tell it to open a file of your choice (a default template).

It's annoying, isn't it! Some programs do it, some don't.

I keep file "Untitled [n]" open, very small window, at all times, but I'd rather not - it wants to be saved every so often and I'm no Messiah. (Aren't I? Well, on this forum I am, but that's another thing altogether.)

I was just thinking this yesterday. Agree very much with Bruce. If I want to open a new file I'm quite capable thanks. I don't need the program opening one every time I switch to it.

On a Mac if you right click on the VW icon in the dock and choose Show you won't get a new blank drawing.

There is probably a similar shortcut for Windows.

I agree totally. Autocad does this also and it is a nuisance. It should be set up as selectable in a checkbox in the preferences.
