Ray Libby
Which version of VectorWorks? What exactly happens? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Are you getting an error message? If so, what is it? What version of dxf/dwg are you exporting as? What settings do you have set? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Katie I click the Export - DXF/DWG and then.... nothing. It is as even I have not clicked it. Just nothing. Or as if that tab/clicks are just not even recognized. The system do not hang, the screen do not go white - nothing. I just can proceed normal with the dwg. Quote Link to comment
Guest
I recommend editing the workspace to remove this menu and then add it back in. Try the export then. You may also want to test in another workspace, to determine if it's a workspace or installation issue. If the problem persists after editing the workspace and choosing a different workspace, I recommend reinstalling. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Doing the same thing but give me error window "An internal error was encountered. Cannot Continue." I have version 12.5.2 on OS 10.4.10. I have tried changing workspace, did the same thing. will now try to upgrade to 12.5.3 see if this work before reinstalling. Prefer not too. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Well I could not wait for the 12.5.3 to download (busy Server, taking little over an hour to download for 85mb) I tried something else that worked for me. I downgrade version to 13/LT95 and presto it work. Must be something about R14 and up that is causing it. Any thought on this Katie???? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Amante, It is likely working in earlier versions because a lesser level of geometry goes out. Is the error message above the whole, exact error message you receive? If so, this sounds like an OS error message. Have you run Disk Utility? Alternatively, you can send the file along with your export settings to tech@nemetschek.net and they can look into the issue. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Katie The error message is exact and directly from vectorworks 12.5.2. And I have done disk utility about 3 weeks ago. This just came up today and I have been exporting file in the last few months. I will send a copy this file that I have been working on, but what would it make any difference if a simple line or rectangle is exported and not work? Quote Link to comment
Guest
You may want to try running disk utility again and then exporting. Has anything changed about your computer since the time it was working to now, such as upgrade the OS, install new software or hardware, etc.? Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Now to think of it, I have upgrade the ram on my Powerbook G4 17" 1.67ghz to 2gb of memory. About a month ago... Quote Link to comment
Guest
Run disk utility first and see how that turns out. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
I have and I upgraded to 12.5.3 still the same. I will have to reinstall??? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Did you verify AND repair disk permissions? Did an alert pop up about a problem with hardware, by any chance? Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
yes I did and nothing came up... Quote Link to comment
Guest
Have you tried shutting down the computer and launching it again? Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Many times...Did you received my file I sent to you? Edited November 19, 2007 by Amante.D Quote Link to comment
Guest
I don't think this is a VW issue as it is not reproducible and the error message sounds like an OS error. Can you post a screen shot of the screen as it looks when the error pops up? Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
You think so, here is the screen shot /Users/rigornerpio/Desktop/dwg export problem.png Quote Link to comment
Guest
At what point in the export process do you get the error message? Is it immediately after clicking OK in the export dialog? Why don't you send the file along with your export settings and someone can look into it. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
It is immediate. How do I attached export setting? Quote Link to comment
Guest
You have to type out the settings you have on and what you have set. Or you can take a screen shot. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
Here are files see what you can do with it. and thanks for helping out on this, will probably reinstall when I have chance in next couple of days. Quote Link to comment
Guest
The export dialog looks wrong. The dialog box doesn't have titles for any of the export options - all you have are command signs and some letter. Has it always been like this? You should see words next to the check mark boxes like in the image below. Quote Link to comment
Amante.D
oops, I must have press a command key when I was doing the screen shot. sorry...but the intention is the same. Quote Link to comment
