Peter Boynton
Hi- My students and I have a lot to learn as new users of VectorWorks 2008. We got the educational version with Designer and Renderworks and will be learning it for use at our high school and summer theaters. This program is a bit daunting! We have (2) training cds, (1) for Core Concepts and (1) for Spotlight, so we'll take it a step at a time! We're excited! The initial head-scratcher for us is that despite what we see in the training cd for Spotlight, there is no Spotlight Tool Set in our menu of tools. There was some confusion when our initial installation cds were sent to us (they sent an 'A' series installation disk instead of a 'B' series). We subsequently got the correct disk and installed the program without incident, but where is that Spotlight Toos Set? (grin). Any ideas? I also wonder if there are any demo files of a finished theater lighting plot that we could view and play with? That would be very helpful as it would show us an example of where we're trying to go as we attempt to create a lighting plot for our school and summer theater spaces. Thanks for your attention. Guest
Go to the Tools menu and choose "Spotlight" from the Workspaces menu. If you don't see "Workspaces" under the Tool menu, go to File > Workspaces and choose Spotlight. Quote Link to comment
Peter Boynton
Hi Katie- So simple! We knew it had to be.... Any thoughts on our 2nd question: I also wonder if there are any demo files of a finished theater lighting plot that we could view and play with? That would be very helpful as it would show us an example of where we're trying to go as we attempt to create a lighting plot for our school and summer theater spaces.
