dm
Is any one using McNurbs? I'm looking for a 3d modelling program (Mac). The descriptions I've found on McNurbs are lacking, and their site is lacking as well. Opinions anyone? thanks Quote Link to comment
Steve Frushour
McNurb is very difficult to use. The learning curve is steep and unforgiving: make a mistake and you have to start a new drawing. Trying to make two shapes look like a continuous curve is time consuming and requires some luck, too. Multiply the problems when attempting to make a complex shape with multiple parts. Adding a texture (like a photographic image)? Forget it. McNurb shapes are made of many components and each one gets textured individually. But, I don't know of any other way to make organic shapes in VectorWorks. Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Check out 3D Manager on the Third Party Add-on page. I've tried MCnurbs and agree with the previous comments. 3d Manager is basically an extrude along path operation. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of how the profile & path interact. You can get a trial version at the website. Quote Link to comment
