vhector
Is there a way to make an automate list/worksheet off the wall tools. length/tickness/hight and so, for calculation? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted October 1, 2007 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 1, 2007 In VectorWorks Architect, choose Tools>Reports>VA Create Schedule. There are two wall reports that you can start with, "Wall Area" and "Wall Style Report". You can customize the reports by adding formulas; this requires a little more knowledge of the VW worksheet. For this, go to the "Worksheet Commands" and "Additional Worksheet Operations" topic on the online help. Quote Link to comment
vhector
Ah that's why i can't find it, we don't have the architect extention. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
You can make one yourself. Make a new worksheet and put in the formulas. It maybe a little bit of work to setup, but you'll can use it over and over again. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
You can create your own worksheet even if you dont' have Architect. Actually it does not appear that either of the two built in worksheets contain the information you are looking for. Create a new worksheet. Select the row header for a row and set it to be a Database Row. Set the criteria of the database to be Type is Wall In the header row of the database enter formulas in the columns that you want. Some formulas that you might like are: =Length {this will give you the wall length in inches} =WallThickness =AverageWallHeight If you want to use feet instead, change the formulas to =Length/12 Pat Quote Link to comment
Petri
If you want to use feet instead, change the formulas to =Length/12 Assuming your length unit is an inch. Since vhector is from Rotterdam, his length unit is probably a centimeter and he may want to use metres in this case. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Petri, Thanks for the correction. I apologize to all those not using feet and inches for negelecting them when I posted this ;-) Lets phrase it this way instead. The basic formulas will get you measurements in the base unit of the drawing. If you want to show the measurement in a different unit, you need to modify the formula to include the proper conversion. Petri
It is quite unfortunate that one cannot use the unit settings of the file in a report. Eg instead of =AREA we might be able to say =AREAINFILEUNITS or have a cell formatting. People working in millimetres and wanting areas in square metres have to divide by 10?6 - and try telling that to an artistic interior designer! Quote Link to comment
vhector
Many thanks i'm trying it out. Hihi that's pretty easy,( if you know it) Edited October 2, 2007 by vhector Quote Link to comment
vhector
is paste function the only one, or are they "hot examples". recognise it standard therms. Like =InLayer or =InClass(name) for example? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
You can define multiple criteria by clicking in the row header (e.g. 2) for the database and editing the criteria. There you can add multiple criteria to further limit the scope fo the database rows. (i.e. Layer is Mod-Floor-3 and Class is Wall-Plaster. In addition the the functions in the Paste Function command, you can also use most of the criteria commands (see the VectorScript Appendix). if you put =L in the database column header, it will diaplsy the layer name for each object. =C gives the class. vhector
Ah the appendix (found it http://softwarecustomizationservices.com/Other/VSFR/Appendix/appendix.html), another door opens. Came not further then the helpmenu. TY Edited October 2, 2007 by vhector Quote Link to comment
