Plotting PDFs

Daedalus Design

Question

I'm trying to figure out how to minimize the size of my PDF's when created with VectorWorks. I have been told that it might have to do with embedded layers in the pdf. Is there any way to turn off the creation of embedded layers??? Is there other ways to minimize. We are getting file sizes of 6+ MB and would like to be down closer to 1-2 MB. Any Ideas??

It's really all about the dpi. Normal large format plotting requires 300dpi ... most plotters raster at 500-1200dpi ... so 300 fits easily within the RAM.

Taking a large plot down requires re-sampling of the image to a lo-resolution.

Try setting your Viewport to half the dpi prior to print2pdf. You should be able to find a happy middle ground between the output quality & acceptable file size.
