Is the v13 Feature Matrix PDF incorrect?

Recommended Posts

That depends on whether you consider a Design Series item such as Architect to be a full stand alone package which includes Fundamentals, or an add on Module, which adds additional features to the base program, Fundamentals.

This seems to me a distinction that Nemetschek itself struggles with. At the version 12 release, the marketing literature described the new features in one product document, but highlighted which of the new features were only available in one of the industry series products.

This time around, they have created a separate new features document for each of the various product configurations, Fundamentals by itself, or in combination with each of the design series modules. This would suggest, for instance, that Architect would be a stand alone package including all the features of Fundamentals plus the additional features of the Architect module.

The 2008 Feature Matrix on the other hand treats Arichitect as a module only, whos new features must be added to Fundamentals in order to see all the new features.

I think the Matrix is actually a better way of looking at the product, as it lets the buyer see specifically what additional features they would get if they bought one of the industry series products instead of just buying Fundamentals.

Which ever way they do it, I just wish it were a little more accurate. See my previous post:
