Ronin X
Does anyone have a suggestion on which tool to use to model a driveway with a downhill slope? Hardscapes cant be 'sloped' downhill, extrudes dont carry textures, roadway doesnt seem to allow wierd shaped driveways. Any suggestions? Ronin Quote Link to comment
propstuff
This is what I did recently. Apply one (or more) Pads with slopes set and an appropriate fence. Duplicate the Pad and turn it into a Texture Bed. Raise the Texture bed up just a little to be above the Pad. Quote Link to comment
wezelboy
Roof face works pretty good for some of this. I also sometimes create extrudes to define the edges of the driveway and then use the 3D Polygon tool to create the actual driveway. Quote Link to comment
Thom
If you have any of the modules with DTM, use the road tool. Quote Link to comment
Robert Anderson
Ronin, it depends how much you want to change the terrain with your road / driveway. If you have a DTM that reflects the topo of the driveway already, then you can just "paint" a driveway on your site model using the Site Modifier tool set to "Texture Bed" configuration. If, however, you need to "dig in" or "mound up" to support your road, the best option is the Roadway-NURBS tool. Quote Link to comment
