carpalmer
how do you adjust line wt on linear material's gyp board detail dots? they're WAY too thick and ruin my drawing? thx carpalmer Quote Link to comment
dcont
Good question. I usually do not use the gyp bd. linear material tool for scaled section details. It would make sense to use this for a full scale drawing. Quote Link to comment
Guest
In the Obj Info Palette, there's a setting called "Density". You can adjust this setting depending on the need for the gyp board detail. Quote Link to comment
carpalmer
yes Katie, but not size of specs. These should be adjustable through the viewport (as opposed globally for the file)since several details at different scaleS (VP's)originate from the SAME drawing. Pls add this to wish list, since without this adjustment THIS tool is UNUSABLE. Quote Link to comment
jeffroyer
Its interesting that adjusting the pen size only effects the other lines of the board but not the "hatch". And as you note, the density only adjusts the spacing of dots. Quote Link to comment

Line thickness options for the hatch would be a good add to this tool. I wouldn't have the hatch thickness be determined by the object line thickness though. Far from unusable, I use the plywood option a ton. That is very cool. Quote Link to comment
jan15
Do you know you can change the line thickness of the lines used in a hatch pattern by going into the 'Edit Hatch' window? Each 'Level' within the hatch pattern gets its own line weight assignment. And for a stipple hatch, I would always set the 'Units' to 'Page' rather than 'World' (in the 'Edit Hatch' window), so that it prints right at any scale. I keep two different stippling hatches, one coarse and one fine. Quote Link to comment
carpalmer
Thanks JAN15, I know about editing hatches, but not as much as you, will keep "units' tip in mind. Unfortunatelly the gyp bd detail hatch of the linear material tool does not show up in the resources, so I cannot edit it... carpalmer Quote Link to comment
Guest
I think jan may be suggesting using another mode of the linear material tool, and use a hatch as the fill style. Quote Link to comment
jan15
Right. If a regular hatch is an option, you can control how heavy the dots are. Higher-level features tend to give you more power but less control. Quote Link to comment
