Stair PIO: duplication problems

I've found that if you duplicate while viewing the upper level of a (PIO) Stair and then move it, it will then move the lower level of the original stair.

It seems to work okay if you duplicate the lower level. I'm still experimenting, but do others have this problem?

Actually it doesn't appear to be consistent. I have another stair that behaves the same way whether you duplicate from the lower or upper level.

We have a similar problem.

When you have a stair (set to get floor to floor heights from the layer heights), and you mirror it, or duplicate it, then delete the 2nd one, the first one is deleted also, almost like they are linked.

Christiaan, do you experience this on documents created in VW 12.5.2? Stairs from older documents may be corrupted, and need to have the 'Fix Stair Associations' script run. Can you nail this down for me?

Yeah it's our template, so it was created before 12.5.2. Where do I find the Fix Stair Associations script?

Whenever you duplicate a stair that is set to fit a Floor to Floor height, open the Object Info Palette, switch to the Data tab and delete the contents of the top box (object's name). This text will be recreated automatically, but now you have two independant Stair objects.

Thanks Robert, will this fix stairs that are not placed in the drawing? (i.e. only in the Resource Browser)?

Stairs in the Resource Browser would not I think have this problem. Are your stairs in the RB set up for layer-to-layer? Seems like a potential problem. If you can cause this error to happen by doing this, please submit a bug.

Thanks Robert, I've ended up resolving the problem by simply stripping out any old stairs and starting again with the new stairs from the v12.5.2 Library.
