wavlas
Before upgrading to VW12, we used a plug-in VB Rotate drawing which allowed you to rotate your drawing to any angle work on it then reset it back to the way it was orginally. Very simple no need to turn on everything or add loci. It did have some issues of converting constrained dimensions to unconstrained when it reset, but the advantages out weighed the negatives. I don't remember were I got it. It doesn't work with the 12.5 Does anyone know of a way to do this in with the latest version of Vectorworks. We really used this function a great deal in 2-D drafting of multi-angle plans and now I've got a group of frustrated folks breathing down my back. Please Help! Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
you can change your grid angle, perhaps. did you take a look at vectordepot.com, or vectorworker.net, or vectorbits? Edited July 17, 2007 by jfmarch Quote Link to comment
wavlas
I forgot about setting the grid angle. That certainly helps with alot things. I'll give vectordepot.com, or vectorworker.net, and vectorbits a try for the plug-in. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
you can use layer links. this way you can draw with all your walls hor. or ver. and then layer link it and rotate it. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Draw your angled portions vertical or horizontal, make it a symbol then rotate it. When you edit the symbol, you will be back to drawing on the X Y grid. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Follow Ray's excellent advise... but before rotating > select all > group> add 2dLocus at drawing center>select all ( making sure there are just the 2 objects ) > rotate as required > convert to symbol>insertion at 2dLocus. ... converting to Symbol>Rotate is a simple yet powerful procedure. mralistair
my god this is all a bunch of dirty work-arounds for a problem that shouldn't exist. the solutions seem to work if you are simply drawing something once, on an ever changing scheme with multiple angles and an existing building this is very messy indeed.
