Jonathan Pickup
I have opened these symbols in VectorWorks 2008 and i can add them you my plants easily. Of course it makes the plants look cool as well. Quote Link to comment
iSymbol-franklin
still more examples to show you: even watercolor versions for Landscapers Has anybody heard of the possibility to set the elements/symbols into transparancy? How does that work? Good results? I'm still considering to leap to VW2008...hope to get here info (from users instead of salesman) Quote Link to comment
Petri
I think you get better results with a transparent backgound in the images. PNG-format, for instance. Object/layer transparency works differently; well, pretty much as layer transparency does in Photoshop. Quote Link to comment
iSymbol-franklin
png can not be placed as an image on a polygone: you get always a starnge result. Been there...done that..not doing it again. But the jpgs give the best results Quote Link to comment
IanH
forgot to add some images from finished work. feedback is mooooore than welcome! Can I ask how you have achieved the random planting in white area at the top of 226-Landscape2.JPG ? Is there a quick and easy way of doing this or do I need to hand draw the wiggly lines? iSymbol-franklin
hey IanH, thanks for your question: the random white planting are the trees from the 'OUTLINE-version' of iSymbol-Landscape. Landscape has the colored version and Outline has (as in the name) the outline/black&white types. It is done by drawing every tree by hand!...lots of clicks...many many many many hours off clicking. best regards Franklin Quote Link to comment
iSymbol-franklin
hey IanH, shall I email you some working examples in outline ? just let me know or look at my website and make a choice http://en.isymbol.eu franklin Quote Link to comment
IanH
Hi Franklin Thanks for the help but I have already downloaded one of your symbols and dissected it for ideas - didn't find what I was looking for though. As a student and startup garden designer, I'm looking at putting my own style on things and was just looking on how to do things with my own style of graphics. Thanks for the offer anyhow. PS. I found that a combination of plant line and vegetation line (with clouds) gave me the look that I was looking for in that assignment. Quote Link to comment
