Printing to HP Colour LJ - shades not patterns

I am assisting a client with our organization with a printing issue with VectorWorks Architect 12.5. Our IT department has just deployed a new Colour HP LaserJet 5550. We are using the PostScript driver (PCL driver gives us a PC XL error in Architect). When printing a drawing direct from VectorWorks, any colour patterns prints out as shade. If we convert the drawing to PDF, the patterns print out fine. Is there any setting in VectorWorks that controls how your patterns print?

Are you printing from a Mac or PC?

In the Print dialog box, check mark "Print Patterns at On Screen Resolution"
