vhector
If you draw a solid polygon, in the object info, there you also can find the sqm of that polygon. Is there a way to link that to a text in the drawing, and maybe then to a worksheet. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
this is very easy to link to a worksheet, you can link it with a name, a class or line weight.. Quote Link to comment
vhector
Thanks, but how do you get the text out of the object info palette to the drawing? Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Space Planning>Create Space from Poly (Architect only I think) will place a label on the drg. Is that what you mean? Quote Link to comment
vhector
Ah that would be it, to shame we only have the basic and not architectural. Well there wouldn't be an other way, or is there? Quote Link to comment
Guest
You could do it manually creating your own records, attaching the records to the polys, and then manually entering the area in the record fields. A worksheet can then be created from the objects with the record present. With that said, if the shape changes, then you will have to manually update the record field. If you are doing space planning and other architectural projects, it really is worth it to upgrade to Architect. The Fundamentals package is limited in the architectural capabilities. vhector
Indeed that's the way i do it now with data symbols. works well allready. Also do more info like comments in the data symbol. You don't see it on the drawing, however in the worksheet you do. Very handy. Good reminder if i forget something (often with big projects ) To bad my bosses won't want to upgrade it. Guest
If you want it to display with the object, you can use Link Text To Record menu to have a record field(s) display on the drawing w/ the input data. Quote Link to comment
