Rosebud Studios
I have an older file that has lines with text inserted along the line. These are for illustrating water, telephone, gas etc. lines on a site plan. The tool I had used would place the text as many times as you indicated along the line. I can no longer edit these lines. The text is gray in the object info pallet. I also can't find the tool to create new lines with text in them. This may have been a 3rd party plug-in. It was very useful. Is there another way this can be done that I can't find? Or do I have to go back to laying text over the line as I did in the old days? Thanks Ed Rose VectorWorks 12.5.1 Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
I think TextLine might be my tool. my tool has a Graphic Control tick box where you can edit the lineweight and stuff. If so, copy it from your old VectorWorks folder to your new VectorWorks Plug-ins folder. If you can?t find it, email me directly. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 29, 2007 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 29, 2007 You can also use the Repetitive Unit tool for this. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Yes, he repetitive unit tool can do this. My tool was written before we had the Repetitive Unit tool, and now it?s better to use the Repetitive Unit tool to put text on a line because then you can make polygon shapes with the text on the line. But I think these lines already exist and Ed wants to change them Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 30, 2007 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 30, 2007 Ed asked, "Is there another way this can be done that I can't find?" I was answering that part of the question. Quote Link to comment
