measure object's girth

Recommended Posts

Girth= the measurement around the middle of something.

Indeed.

A charmingly old fasioned term I havent heard for a while.

I'm picturing the trouser measurement of a rather portly older gentleman. :-)

...or perhaps the saddle strap of a hourse.

Perhaps Dave wants the Arc Length of his Arc?

Dave,

If it's a simple arc you can read the Arc Length directly from the Object Info Pallette (OIP)

If the shape has been turned into a polyline from arcs you can temporarily Decompose it to read the length of an individual component, then re-compose.

If it is a 3D object, most people trace a new temporary arc over the profile and get the dimensions from that. A pain, but there you are.

I'm not aware of a Dimension tool which will place the Arc length on the drawing.
