ErichR
I need a door frame head that is 4" high so that it matches block coursing for a 7-0 door. This is not uncommon. You would think with all of bells and whistles something as simple as this would be possible. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Could you elaborate. I am not sure what it is that you are stating or requesting. Quote Link to comment
ErichR
Assume you want a steel door frame to work with standard 8" masonry coursing. 7'-4" = 11 courses @ 8". A door standard height is 7'. With a standard 2" frame, you end up 2" short of standard masonry 8" coursing. Assume also that you want 2" frames at the door jambs. This means that you have 2" frame jambs and, ideally, a 4" door head frame. The VW door part variables don't distinguish between jamb and header sizes. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Now I understand. Yes, I guess you are right. You could almost acomplish this with the Lintel function, except that by default, the Lintel extends past the jamb. If this is something that you want, then you should post it as a Wishlist item and not General Discussion. For now, it seems, your solution is to create a symbol for your doors. Quote Link to comment
ErichR
The reason for posting this here is to see if I'm missing something. Quote Link to comment
