Printing with mac (os x 10.3.9) with epson 1520

Hi. I have just bought the epson 1520 and a parallel to usb lead to connect it to my mac. Plugged it all in. All ok. Printer shows up etc. Word documents printing fine. But can't get Vectorworks (version 11) to print and this is what I bought the printer for!! Frustrating! Can anyone help me?

What sort of Mac are you using? Did you get the 1520 second hand or do they still make them?

It's a powerbook g4. I got the 1520 second hand as they no longer make them.

My best guess is you're overwhelming your memory with too high resolution settings. In the Print dialog, go to the pull-down menu and select Vectorworks. Make sure the resolution is set to 360 or lower.

I have checked resolution and it is set at 300. Also, I tried to print a really basic box as I was concerned about the amount of data being the issue. Even a simple box didn't print.

What exactly do I do to 'use GIMP Print via CUPS'?? Not really sure what this means but it sounds hopeful!
