boris1
When trying to use fit walls to roof command, nothing is happening to the walls. (I'm doing step by step with vectorworks architect tutorial). Is there some obvious setting I have missed? Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
is your roof above your walls? is it in the correct layer? When there is no 3D object above a wall in the layer you've selected, then the walls won't change Quote Link to comment
Travis
What link said and. . . make sure your roof object is on a separate layer from the walls. Good luck, Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
Boris, it's hard to say whether there is a setting you have missed since we have no idea what settings you are using! Be assured that this tool works. Travis, it is not necessary to put the roof object on a different layer; however, it may be good practice. What often happens is that, since the command fits the walls to any horizontal object on the nominated layer, you can get weird results sometimes unless you put the horizontal object or objects on a layer all by themselves. islandmon
Place a 3d Poly on a diff layer and then run the fit to roof command. Quote Link to comment
Travis
Pete, I agree it's not necessary. But one walks the line between being precise and concise when offering advice, don't you agree? Quote Link to comment

SimonWrigley
Boris. Don't know if you've got the solution yet but check that you've got the roof class switched on. This is needed even if your roof is on another layer. Quote Link to comment
