Delete the VectorWorks preferences first, then empty the trash can.

If launch still doesn't work - check to make sure you have a supported version of QuickTime or newer.

If that's the case - delete the preference files again, delete the VW folder, empty the trash, and reinstall.

Solution:

You have to install the mac 10.4.9 combo update from Apple.com!

VW doesn't like the System Software-Update.

Installing the combo update may have resolved an issue on your computer, but I have been installing the delta updates via Software Update since 10.1.1 and have never had subsequent issues with VW that were tracable to Sofware Update.
