Francois Levy
I apologize if this has been covered in previously. I've noticed that I have the option of choosing from a menu of standard W-section profiles for steel joists, but that option is greyed out when I specify the joist is a C-section. Robert, should I post that to BugTrack, or is that simply an incomplete feature not worthy of a BT? Quote Link to comment
Robert Anderson
C-section, as in light-gage metal framing? (I expect we're not talking OB-GYN here If you're talking about LGMF, then we didn't specify "standard" sizes for the simple reason that at the time this joist feature was written, we weren't aware standards for LGMF that had the same level of acceptance as cold-rolled steel sections (thank you AISC!) If such standards exist, could you point me to them? Quote Link to comment
Francois Levy
Sorry, not LGMF. I meant the same standard steel channels that are in the menu of choices for the 2D steel channel PIO. Quote Link to comment
Robert Anderson
Ah. Technically, I suppose, you'd need to support all and any steel shapes (angle, channel, tube). Any others? Quote Link to comment
Francois Levy
Well, I'm only asking for the same ones you already have in the 2D tool to be available in the 3D joist. It struck me that they are in one place, and not the other. Obviously those are different tools, but ... W, angle, channel, tube pretty much captures it for me. Quote Link to comment
