Mac OS 9 + VW 8.5.1

Recommended Posts

After installing Mac OS 9, dragging objects several times causes the computer to freeze. Sometimes only VW crashes, sometimes it's the whole OS.

I experienced this on a 9500/120 (96 Mb), on a bw G3 (256 Mb) and on a G4 (256 Mb). All of the machines worked well with OS 8.6 installed. Does anybody know a solution or experience the same problems?

Make sure you have enough memory to run the program and also to perform the tasks you are trying to do. If you allocate more memory to the program that may solve the problem.

I consider the problem to be Apple-, not Diehl-related. The only solution seems to be to await 9.0.1. Reassigning more memory doesn't help a bit.

I am experiencing the same problem. There appears to be no logic to when the program freezes. If anyone out there has the answer please let us know. DiehlGraphsoft please note!

I've posted my problems with freezes on a G4 w/ OS9 an stillhavent found a solution. It seem to have someting to do with screen regen becuse it happen alot when I grab an object and drag it to the side of the screen so it automatically pans. I tried turning off my vidio accleration extensions but this did not help. So I Dont Know.

But on another subject Adobe has a new version of ATM for OS9 I Down loaded it and installed it and it seems to have helped with several other problems in VW(slow regen of worksheets, etc.)

I think the freezing problem may be to do with virtual memory. Since I've turned it off the problem hasn't recurred.
