Drawing on 1:1 layers, Printing at scale

I am wondering if anyone works this way.

We upgraded from VW10 fairly recently to 12.5.1. With the sheet layer function it seems that one could work at 1:1 in the design layers and then set the printing scale in the viewport (like many other Cad programs).

Some initial exploration seems to show that it will work. The only problem seems to be shifting back and forth from sheet layer to design layer can be difficult because of the scale issues.

Thoughts?

Yes it is quite possible. The disadvantage of 1:1 is that working in the design layers gives you no idea of line weight, and any text in the design layer must be at rediculous sizes to be visible. We decided it's better to work at the "standard" scale of 1:100, (or what ever the most likely output scale is).

There doesn't appear to be a downside to this approach so far.

YMMV

cheers
