DGN?

My local government has DTM info in DGN (Autodesk?) format. Any ideas about the best way to import this? Ask for it as DXF and build my own? The site is not large and I could handle redrawing the contours if need be.

DXF will be just fine, I'm sure they are used to doing this as not many consulting firms would have Microstation or AutoCAD Map (normal AutoCAD can't import DGN). "DTM info" can of course mean almost anything. If you get "attributed blocks" of 2D polygons, there are a few extra steps, but I'd be surprised if you'd need to redraw the contours.
