dontevenjoke
Is there a quick way to hatch around doors and windows. Currently, I am hatching the whole area, and 'cutting around' windows with a rectangle or polygon, and sending it backwards. Is there a way that mimics Autocads island hatching? Is there a quicker way than I am doing? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Petri
What exactly are you trying to hatch? Elevations, I assume. How are they created? How are you hatching them? Quote Link to comment
panthony
Simon, If you are hatching elevations inside viewport annotation you can use the bucket fill mode with the polygon tool. This will find all the "islands" you refer to and hatch around them. You need to make sure that all areas you are asking to fill are closed. The bucket fill slows down at radius lines so you need to really pay attention to model detail. As the viewport elevation fills with hatch, depending on the hatch complexity, it may slow down the screen refresh because it requires a lot of memory for display. When you try to bucket fill with the view at full display the bucket fill takes longer so...I have found that if you limit the amount of lines dispayed on screen (in other words zoom in as tight as you can displaying only the area you are attempting to hatch) the bucket fill works better. Also for larger areas...break them up to smaller ones to make hatching quicker. Pete A Quote Link to comment
