Daryl Wood
Does anyone have success with opening a roof plane group to edit the underlying polyline and at the same time be able to see and snap to other drawing objects? Visibility of other objects while editing a group seems to work with simple objects like lines, rectangles and circles, but not with roof planes. Daryl Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Daryl, Here's my normal procedure: go to TOP/PLAN view and draw the shape (as a CLOSED polygon) that you want to use as an ADD-er or SUBTRACT-er. With the shape selected go to EDIT>CUT (or COPY). Now double click on the ROOF FACE. Then go to EDIT>PASTE IN PLACE. Hope that method works for you. P Quote Link to comment
Daryl Wood
Peter, thanks. It sure seems like a work around, but one that should work. Apparently it is not possible in this version to see and snap to other objects while editing roof surfaces. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Well I guess it is a workaround, but an easy one. Once you start using the shortcut keys for CUT/COPY/PASTE/PASTE IN PLACE it's really fast (perhaps you are using these already). The way I've always looked at it is that I have to enter the roof face anyway, so I just make sure to take the piece(s) I need along with me ;-) Quote Link to comment
