Peter Eichel
Anyone familiar with ALLPLAN? Would anyone switching from Vectorworks to ALLPLAN find it easy going and what are the similarities if any (classes, viewports, setup etc.) It's hard to find current reviews but what I have found sound impressive. jan15
I don't know anything about AllPlan, but did you see the offer to try it out for a month for $99? http://cadconsulting-usa.com/allplan/leasing.htm There's some information there about how it works, and they offer a free manual and tutorial at http://cadconsulting-usa.com/support/nnfreeware.asp That site makes it sound like they're trying hard to sell AllPlan in the US, but I had a heck of a time finding it. There's no link to it at Nemetschek's AllPlan site. They link US customers instead to the NNA VectorWorks site (I can't find any mention of AllPlan there) and to a non-existent site. Guest
Deciding to jump from VW to Allplan depends on what type of work you do. VW is a design CAD application that allows you to work with a variety of file formats and create all components of a complete set of presentation and construction documents all in one application. You may not find the same level of unity in AllPlan, depending on your type of work. Quote Link to comment
Henry Finch
Well, If we're talking about Nemetschek's other software, we can add Archicad, sincer Nemetschek is aquiring 54% of Graphisoft, the Hungarian developer of Archicad. How will this be integrated (or not) with AllPlan or Vectorworks. Archicad and Vectorworks seem to be direct competitors in my area. Quote Link to comment
