Gytis
More info would be helpful, but you might try using Extrude Along Path, keeping in mind the path determines dims. Alternatively, cut extrudes @45 with Split tool. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
One proven technique is to create 2 Hybrid symbols ... one for the inner-45 & one for the outter-45. Then link the symbols via linear extrudes. You can also create a single linear extrude Hybrid Symbol then duplicate and resize as required for each instance. This technique works great for gutters as well. Quote Link to comment
Acutrona
Gytis, I've tried to extrude then use the split tool this leave me with an un change straght molding( not sure y)? Islandmon, what do u mean by a hybrid symbol? Quote Link to comment
Gytis
Unfortunately there is something funky going on re: splitting some extrudes. Although some split fine (I just tried again), others do not, though they did in earlier VW versions. See this thread: Split probs I had been hoping the problem was more limited. Acutrona
I got it to work Apparently if you draw a rectangle slightly bigger then what you tring to put molding around, then take you molding cross section you can extrude along path and it will wrap around the rectangle. Thank you for your help i apprectiate it Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Using Extrude Along Path for the entire molding works but can become frustrating for complex perimeters. Give the Hybrid Symbol technique a try ... working within the Resource Browser is far superior to trail&error path /profile editing ( which also provides the opportunity for a crash ). You can build generic Libraries of the various components using your priors to generate the next in the series. Quote Link to comment
