Createur
Does anyone know a method for replacing layer links? Let?s say i have a floor plan and referenced it into another file, created a layer link on a seperate layer, moved the layer link and rotated it. Now I want to replace the floor plan in the layer link with another floor plan sharing the same origin point but saved in a seperate file. I want to be able to maintain the distance I moved the layer link and the rotation without having to move and rotate all over again but simply changing the referenced file. Is that possible? islandmon
Although the LayerName uses 'NameString' the VW engine uses a different Layer ID# for each Layer instance. Therefore, anything placed within the same LayerID# container will be accessible via Layer linking to that container. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Andrew Bell@NV Posted December 20, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 20, 2006 You can do it by adding one more layer, ugly as that might be. Remove the reference to the old referenced file, but keep the layer. Go to that layer and delete everything. Reference your new layer in the new reference file. Then create a layer link on that emptied layer to the newly referenced layer. Quote Link to comment
