Jodyb17
I can't seem to figure out why symbols in my drawings snap to random places within the walls that I am placing them, rather than staying where I put them. I am probably missing something simple, but this is really frustrating me. Pointers would be much appreciated. Quote Link to comment
PeterT
Turn off the "Snap to Grid" constraint if it is active. This might cause the problem you mention. Also, the "A" key toggles this on and off in case this is turning on by accident. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Jody, if you disable the "wall insertion" mode (in the mode bar, upper left) then objects will not attach to (be "in") walls. Remember though that there are certain objects that you will almost always want to be "in wall" such as windows and doors. For most other objects (eg: cabinets, showers, stairs, etc) I usually just turn off wall insertion... Hope that helps... Quote Link to comment
Jodyb17
Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction. I need to remember to experiment with those mode tools when encountering various behaviors. Is there somewhere that these mode options are decribed? I would have never figured that out on my own. CipesDesign
Hi Again Jody, It took me a little while to find it, but here it is. I agree that this would be difficult to find on your own. Peter VW's HELP Edited November 28, 2006 by CipesDesign Quote Link to comment
