12.5 updater problems

Gary T

Question

I have already sent a couple of emails regarding this, so please excuse the repetition.

My desktop PC has no internet connection. I downloaded the updater to a flash drive with my laptop, to in-turn install on my desktop. In trying to install, I get an error message indicating the "Internet installer" cannot be accessed and to check my internet connection. I am supposing I will need a disk to make this update, but is there some sort of work around?

Thanks. confused.gif

No, you will need the installation disk if you don't have an internet connection.

While the download certainly requires the internet, the installation will do a few checks back to the network. The updater requires a constant network connection to complete.
