Kurt Magness
greetings I have been trying to model a "spoon type surface" with nurbs surfaces and have had some success but still not quite what I want. I first tried the loft tool, "birail sweep mode" but it creates 2 nurbs surfaces one surface is the majority of the "spoon" and one surface is the "tip" This seems is ok but when I used the shell tool to give it some thickness the "tip" surface goes weird geometry. Secondly, I have been trying to model the "handle" of the spoon which is shaped like if you put your hand on a table then raised up your elbow about 10 degrees. Any thoughts would be helpful. thanks. If I could figure out how to post a picture of what I have, I would . Maybe someone could inform me on that one too. Oh and by the way my apologes to anybody who sent me a private message. I just figured them out and had 12 dating back to 2002, oppps Quote Link to comment

islandmon
Apology accepted ; ) Lofting various cross sections ( and adding solids ) of the spoon shape works, too. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
i would go with the various cross sections and loft them. That way you don?t have to shell solid and it allows you to have varying thicknesses along the handle Quote Link to comment
MKingsley
This sounds like a great subject for a Podcast, Jonathan... Quote Link to comment
