Keynote Legend Spell Check

Is there a trick to spell checking the text within a keynote legend? When I select the object and run spell check, it looks at the filename path only, not the text in the notes. I am not using database notes for these...

I've got my Mac set-up to spell check all text regardless of which app. , where, why ... it spells check these posts, too.

but , honestly, I can't remember the steps I used to set it up ; )

The NSSpellChecker class gives any application an interface to the Cocoa spell-checking service. To handle all its spell checking, an application needs only one instance of NSSpellChecker. It provides a panel in which the user can specify decisions about words that are suspect.

I use PathFinder Finder on Steroids and it has a preference for spell checking the active application documents.

that does sound promising, but shouldn't the VW checker work for notes it generates?
