Daryl Wood
After successfully framing a floor platform, I now want to show a 3d subfloor material on top. Should that be done with the 3d extruded polygon tool? Daryl Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
I usually just use a FLOOR object, but you can also use an extrude. You should experiment a bit to see which works easiest/best for you... Quote Link to comment
panthony
Daryl, If you are looking for authentic results in 3D then just draw (in a seperate class from the joists) using 2D polys all the plywood sheathing (4x8) cut sheets and full pieces then extrude the whole lot to the depth of the sheathing (3/4") and adjust the "Z" height to move them on top of the joists. By doing it this way you will have all the sheets sitting properly on the joists and you will be able to have them appear on any sections you cut later on. Pete A Quote Link to comment
Daryl Wood
Thanks, I'll look into both ways--object creation and extruded polyline. Daryl Quote Link to comment
designformat
Daryl Try creating "roof face " from your polygon, set slope to 0 deg then use "roof framing " tool to create the joist ect. Cheers Milenko Quote Link to comment
