12.5 Mac 10.3 Architect Window Plugin Crashes

Dear All

we are using 12.5 architect and trying to use any of the window plugin symbols from the architect library, however as soon as you drag and drop the windows onto the drawing vectorworks dies very quickly.

Anyone else come across this, and is there a workaround.

Use the MacCombo update to 10.3.9, pronto.

Also, delete the 'Legacy window / door plugins' from your workspace.

Sorry it is 10.3.9.

Why would the legacy window / door plugins mess up the new ones that ship with 12.5?

Do you have Architect without RenderWorks?

If so, did you update or install 12.5 from the installation disk?

I do not have renderworks, and I installed 12.5 from the install disc rather than the upgrade build version 60761.

I had just had some very helpful help!! The answer is below.

There has been a bug identified on that build version where the Window plug-in on Mac

or Windows would crash on use, if the RenderWorks library is not present

in the VectorWorks installation. To reduce the size of VectorWorks, Nemetschek

have always eliminated RenderWorks if the license does not include it.

This happens on both Mac and Windows.

Those customers installing off the DVD who chose Yes to the Online Update during the installation process would have received an immediate patch to the application through the online updating mechanism. Most users will choose to check for updates when they install and as such they will never see this problem.

Those users who did not choose the automatic update option, should go to:

http://www.nemetschek.net/downloads/index.php and download the latest patch version.

Note: Users who install VectorWorks with RenderWorks will not have this

problem at all.

The installed build which has this problem is 60761.

Any updated build which as this problem fixed will have build number

60762 or later.
