Sian
Does anybody know the best way to create and render a star cloth? Quote Link to comment
Bart Rammeloo
And what would a "star cloth" be? A piece of cloth in the shape of a star? Cloth with stars printed on it? I'm sorry, but as a Belgian, I miss the vocabulary to understand this Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Being a from a theatre background myself I think Sian means one of the backdrops used in threatre to simulate a starry night. Quote Link to comment

You could try a symbol made of a multitue of point lights set to "Lit Fog" but the render times might be grim. You could try a "double" flat: front one black with small holes clipped through it placed just in front of a white one with a texture set to Constant reflectivity. might work OK. N. islandmon
Or create a simple Black texture square with the "random" holes set to transparency. Apply the texture to the 3d cloth surface then back lite the sucker. Or create an ImageProp of the actual sky at the correct Lat/Long Quote Link to comment
