td4stage
What is the possibility of adding a "Print Preview" option? If possible, I always use it on other apps...sometimes prevents the waste of huge (sometimes expensive) sheets of paper! Thanks Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
I'd love to see this too. Mac OS X has its own built-in print preview, but it requires waiting for a PDF to be rendered to the screen, so an instant preview built into VW along the lines of the one used in Microsoft Office 2004 (for Mac at least) would be great, and would probably help avoid a lot of printing mistakes. 0 litebrite
I have to agree...I often end up printing useless copies of things because I didn't see something in the paper area. Quote Link to comment
0 AVD
Put me on the instant notification list when THIS feature is enabled. It boggles my mind that VW does not support print previews...especially for a Windows box! Clearly this needs to be resolved. Quote Link to comment
0 MikeC
I use the cross fingers method, it doesn't work! so put me on the list as well. Quote Link to comment
0 islandmon
Always print to PDF >review page > then to Plotter/Printer. This approach also provides opportunities for post-editing, archiving and uploading to a server's client directory. VW output from screen WYSIWYG to device depends on the printer driver installed. 0 Petri
Microsoft Office -programs are several magnitudes simpler than VW. Even so, they very often fail in the print preview. The MacOS preview, on the other hand, is always exactly what will be printed with the specified printer: what you see is what would be sent to the printer. Yes, it can take a few seconds, even minutes, but, especially considering that any view in VW is extremely close to what will actually print, I prefer that. Do we again have a case where people who chose the cheap option are not happy with what they bought? Hey, Katie did make a pertinent point about the (financial) implications when choosing the operating system! You get what you pay for. Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
Those on Macs will be pleased to learn that live print preview is now built into Mac OS X (as of v10.5): http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/300.html#printing Might even work in v12.5 although I can imagine some apps might need to be tweaked to take advantage of such a feature. 0 Christiaan
So, VectorWorks v13 doesn't support the new live print preview in Mac OS X 10.5 Quote Link to comment
