Printed drawing is stretched

bc

Question

Hello,

I have just now discovered that my printed drawings are stretched slightly horizontally but not vertically. As an example:

I draw a rectangle that is 36 ft wide by 32 ft high.

I print this drawing on a 13 x 19 sheet on a HP 1220c printer and when I scale the actual printed drawing the 32ft vertical will measure correctly but the 36 ft horizontal will measure 35'-9"....losing 3" somehow. The error is the same printing from a design layer or a sheet layer. Scaling on the monitor with the tape measure tool measures correctly.

Can someone enlighten me as to the to source of the problem and it's solution? Thanks, Bradley

Thanks islandmon,

I tried installing the gimp drivers and I spec it (HP Deskjet 1220c, CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5) as my choice for printer in the printer list but nothing happens. I'm sure I did something wrong here since I'm not too savvy in such matters. I did try your PDF/Preview suggestion to no avail. Thanks, Bradley.
