Christiaan
I downloaded the update from: http://www.nemetschek.net/12.5/vwinfo.php After updating the HASP driver as per: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB12&Number=65515 I then ran the 12.5 updater, but got this message: Error, There was an error in GetAndInstallUpdates. And then this message: Installation Failure, See... /Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/InstallerError.txt ...for details. Which reads: There was an error in GetAndInstallUpdates. Exception Type: exceptions.UnboundLocalError Exception Value: local variable 'zipObj' referenced before assignment Exception Stack: File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 1238, in GetAndInstallUpdates File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 826, in OpenZipFile Possibly of note is that my initial download stalled and I had to restart it, so I'm downloading the updater file again. panthony
I have recieved the same error text: There was an error in GetAndInstallUpdates. Exception Type: exceptions.UnboundLocalError Exception Value: local variable 'zipObj' referenced before assignment Exception Stack: File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 1238, in GetAndInstallUpdates File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 826, in OpenZipFile Tried to start download a second time and recieved the same error. exocubic
I also have received this error. iMac G5 running OS 10.4.7. Quote Link to comment
Ryan McCuaig
Same error here on OS X 10.4.7, installing over 12.0.1... had an uninterrupted download so I doubt that's it. Little Snitch (http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch) says: "ExtractFiles wants to connect to nemetschek.net on TCP port 80 (http)" "ExtractFiles wants to connect to exchange.nemetschek.net on TCP port 25 (smtp)" Seems a bit weird to me that the installer wants to connect to a mail server, but what do I know... Opening up port 25 on my end makes no difference, still get the same error. Quote Link to comment
exocubic
I was able to complete the upgrade. Go to the "Sharing" system pref pane and disable your firewall. Quote Link to comment
exocubic
Doh... spoke too soon. The installer made it further into the process, but failed again with the following error: There was an error in GetAndInstallUpdates. Exception Type: exceptions.UnboundLocalError Exception Value: local variable 'zipObj' referenced before assignment Exception Stack: File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 1238, in GetAndInstallUpdates File "InstallerScript.pyc", line 826, in OpenZipFile Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Do you have anything else running? After the error I noticed that Preview was still open, so once it was closed the installation worked, & the programme runs fine (need to rebuild my workspace). Stay tuned. Quote Link to comment
Ryan McCuaig
No luck here with the firewall off, although I do get an extra download step that wasn't happening before. It simply fails in the same way after a long download. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
After downloading the updater again it worked for me, and I didn't turn my firewall off, plus I still had other applications running. We have been having problems with our internet connection so it's possible we didn't have a connection the first time I tried. Hopefully turning off your firewall will work for those of you still having a problem. Or maybe NNA have reconfigured things at their end? Judging by my experience I suggest you download the updater again if you still have a problem. Quote Link to comment
exocubic
I tried again, after quitting Launchbar, which was still running previously. The installation completed succesfully (no, really). I think it may have actually just been a bandwidth issue with NNA servers. Quote Link to comment
TBennett
You may need to unplug any ipods etc ... that are plugged in. I had an ipod plugged in with no programs running, but it was still enough to cause problems with quicktime elements. VW installed fine after I unplugged the ipod. Quote Link to comment
panthony
Bandwidth! I did not change anything and the download worked fine. Pete A Quote Link to comment
