Area take-off computations

I was surprised (astonished?) to find that the info palette does not compute the area of walls. It would be a great boon to have the area of walls, slabs and roofs computed by VW, and volumes and certain cross-sectional areas as well. Hope to see this feature soon! It would be an elementary feature of a program that boasts of BIM capability. We can't even get at wall areas using Worksheet functions!

Pete, there are a number of Worksheet functions which will return information about walls:

WALLAREA_GROSS

WALLAREA_NET

WALLAVERAGEHEIGHT

WALLSTYLENAME

WALLTHICKNESS

Use these functions with Class criteria (define your different style walls using separate classes) and you can get quite good information on the walls. You can even return the Volume.
