scaling all drawing except pattern

how to scale all the elements of a drawing except the scale of the patterns? It happens that scaling with the "scale all elements" checked, I get a drawing with patterns so small that it becomes very very slow in screen refresh!

This probably wont help but Image mapping allows control of orientation, scales & angles... very handy.

If you need scaling you should try using

hatches rather than patterns

hatches can be scaled

THe other benefit of Hatches is you can define them as World or Page.

Use Page for the hatches you want to look the same way regardless of the drawing scale, notablely the ones that are slowing down your drawing.

Use World for hatches that repersent real objects like tile layouts.

On the mac, pattern were an original feature in the earliest macs, and had to do with the screen density of 72dpi..... they are not scaleable to my knowledge
