3D dimensioning

Recommended Posts

I often want to add some dimensions to 3D views in order to communicate efficiently with people who may not be accustomed to mentally rendering 3D views from an orthogonal view. Seems there should be a way to 'float' dimensions for this purpose, but so far, I find they remain, flounder-like, in the ground plane, with the text usually not discernible and the orientation having nothing to do with my carefully-rotated 3D perspective. Surely I can't be the first to go down this road?

In the early versions of Minicad you could make Text and dimensions both act like they were 3D by layer linking. This ability dissapeared, but you can still make plan dimensioning act 3D like by Layer Linking with the Project 2D Objects option on.
