MKingsley
Why is the number of treads greyed out and unchangeable in the Settings>Flights and Platforms when the winder section is selected? I just want 4 steps in the winder but caint. Quote Link to comment
Guest
It might be because the height of the stair won't allow for such a high riser, depending on the other values of the stair. If you want, send just the stair along with the desired settings to tech@ and we can take a look at it. Quote Link to comment
MKingsley
It seems to be a tread depth issue. I can get 4 steps in the winder if I set the tread depth to 16". Try putting different values in the tread depth option and see what happens to the winder section. 11", 13", and 16" seem to get the best results.. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted August 23, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 23, 2006 The winders use the same "running"(tread depth) as the rest of the stair, and will fit the number of runners with that tread depth into the space specified. If you want a 45-degree split landing type of winders, take a look at the Knowledge Base article on how to create these: Winder stair KB Tutorial Quote Link to comment
MKingsley
Thanks for the help, Robert. I was getting close to achieving that but needed that side length of 0.0001 instead of the 0.0 value I was giving it. I assume I won't have to be doing that math in the next release.
