Drew,

That would make sense. To calculate the beam and intensity it needs the origin of the light source to be at the z as well a x & y coordinates.

It is wierd that the source is at the clamp, except that it is where you usually determine hanging height, but it isn't noticeable unless you zoom in on the intrument - I had never noticed until you brought it up.

I side hung a VL3000 on a truss and since the zero point is at the center of the base the truss tube was in the middle of my beam and blocked most of it. I changed the symbol's zero point to be in the middle of the yoke to fix, but what a pain to move all my fixtures over. Can't we have a edit location for the light source?
