Stiney3
I was wondering if anybody has been able to do mid air gobo projection in SL 11. I have turned on the Fog Weather Effect, but I was unable to make to see mid air light. Any Ideas?? Thanks, Aaron Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted September 7, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 7, 2004 Renderworks does not currently support volumetric lighting that would be required to show projections in mid air. The weather effects are applied to the rendering and do not interact with the elements in the drawing. Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Aaron, this is a clunky way to fake Volumetric lighting, and I haven't actually tried it with Gobos, but it works resonably well with "ordinary" lights. Make a truncated solid cone that reproduces the spread of your light beam. Orientate it in 3D space so it sits in the right place; little end to the light, big end to the stage. Give it a transparent texture of maybe 5 to 10% transparency (almost not there). Like I said, clunky; and I'd be interested to hear if the gobos work on it. HTH, N. Quote Link to comment
