APE Design Ctr Posted July 11, 2006 Share Posted July 11, 2006 Has anyone some extensive experience with this plugin, specifically for VW12 to C4D 9.6? I have been using VW11.5 and C4D 9.1. I have noticed that some of the geometry gets translated incorrectly, and I am hoping there are some improvements. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

APE Design Ctr Posted July 11, 2006 Author Share Posted July 11, 2006 sometimes it is extrudes along path. Tube geometry. Say I have a long tube that I extruded along a path. Sometimes the translation shows it as almost like taking a vertical cross section of the tube, so I have a thin rectangle the length of the tube. Quote Link to comment

APE Design Ctr Posted July 12, 2006 Author Share Posted July 12, 2006 I just did a test now. I did an extrude along path, with a circle, and just a normal circle extrude. Then I did a NURBS path, and did a circle extrude along NURBS path. The normal circle extrude is fine. The extrude along path converts to a square profile on one part, but along the elbow it is fine. The extrude along NURBS path doesnt even show up except for the circle profile. I dont have an easy way to add images to this post, but I can email you if you are very interested. G_Hannigan Posted July 12, 2006 Share Posted July 12, 2006 I just did the following test: 1. Circle w/ polyline as path(used corner pt, cubic & bezier). 2. Circle w/ Nurbs curve as path. 3. Nurbs circle w/ Nurbs curve as path. 4. Exported (Class option). 5. Opened in C4D 9.6 I didn't get any of the flaws you describe. They look the same as in VW. Perhaps VW 12 & C4D 9.6 are OK in this instance. Send me a PM of an example if you like. George Quote Link to comment
