Model Set up Won't Allow 8'-1" Hieght

New to VW- Model set up, won't allow me to choose 8'-1" for Mod Floor 1 Hieght C, It always reverts to 7'-11".

DO they have Architect traing cd available for download purchase?

It should allow any number you choose. In what format are you entering the value?

seems really strange

maybe some disparity with Keybord code or something

every thing else seems to work though

Gary, try entering it without the dash, like this: 8'1 (if you are working in feet & inches, inches are the default and are recognized without the "inch" mark). If that doesn't work, try entering in inches only, like this: 97. HTH's :-)

VW is understanding the dash as a minus sign and doing the calculation correctly. You can use a space to separate the feet units from the inches unit. You will need to use a ' to identify the feet but if the units are set to feet and inches or inches, you will not need the inch marker.

That was It!,I'm not used to their conventions.

It reads with the ' and " symbols, but as you said, It's doing the math ! What a trip.Other programs require those symbols.

Yes, Vectorworks allows you to use mathematical expressions in it's input boxes. Say, if you want to shorten a line by the width of 3 items, you can just enter the formula w/o figuring out the final lenght first. Example 25'6"-(3*3'4").
