RandSPeck
Okay I am willing to admit defeat and ask what may be a simple and stupid question. How do you flip a hybird object and keep its attributes? For instance, how do I make a Mac 2000 hang upside down from the truss? I was able to do this before but for the life of me cannot remember what I did. Help Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted July 2, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 2, 2004 You need to make a copy, or edit the existing, symbol def and then rotate the 3D portion while editing the symbol. Quote Link to comment
RandSPeck
So in effect, I will need to create a new symbol for every angle I want to show in 3D? This is not a problem but I was wondering if I was making it more complicated then I needed to. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted July 2, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 2, 2004 Correct. You will have to create a new symbol for each different 3D rotation. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
RAND, I haven't tried this, but it might work: Enter yout symbol then SELECT ALL and COPY. Then exit the symbol and PASTE (or PASTE IN PLACE). Then GROUP. You should be able to duplicate this group and rotate/move/flip to your heart's content (I hope :-)) Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted July 2, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 2, 2004 CipesDesign, The symbols in question are suppling graphics for a hybrid plug-in object, so it's a little more complicated then just rotating 3D geometry. Quote Link to comment
RandSPeck
Flipping is working fine. It does seem to mess up its ability to draw beams. How can I fix the light so that the draw beam function will work properly? Quote Link to comment
