Tom Grabowski
I am having a problem with the help in VectorWorks. When I click on the VectorWorks help command in the menu, I get an error message that says ?An error has occurred while opening the help system. Make sure the ?VWHelp? folder is in the same folder as the application.? When I go to the WVHelp folder (which is in the same folder as the application) and click in the ?index.htm? file, the browser (Firefox) opens with VW help. I know it had worked previously from the program. Running VW 12.0.1 Windows XP Quote Link to comment
Guest
Is the VW folder in the Program Files folder or did you move it? Is the name of the VW folder VectorWorks 12.0.1 or did you name the folder? Quote Link to comment
Tom Grabowski
The folder for help was not changed from the installation. It is located on the E drive in a folder called "Vectorworks 12.0.0". It was not moved there from another location, it was installed there. The help command did work previously after I upgraded from 11. Tom Quote Link to comment
Guest
VW should have installed to the C>Program Files folder - having it outside the primary hard drive is likely causing the issue. Quote Link to comment
Tom Grabowski
Turns out the problem was that Windows did not have a default browser assigned. Now that it does, help will run even though VW is not on the primary hard drive. Quote Link to comment
