Tom4
After working about 20 to 30 drawings VW12 slows right down to a crawl. We are using Windows XP pro and this is happening to a few different users on different CPU's. The only way to get it to run faster is to restart the CPU. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
On my Mac, I can use a utility that shows memory usage by all the various programs. If you can do that on your machine, see if VW is increasing it's memory usage over time. This is not a fix, but the info might help NNA troubleshoot. Quote Link to comment
Tom4
Kevin, PC's have Task Manager which does much the same monitoring - mem usage and processor load. I will keep an eye on it over several days and see what it shows and let tech support know any info I find on the subject. Thanks for the comment. Tom Quote Link to comment
Guest
Tom, Can we get some more specific information to help us narrow the problem down? Are you using VW 12 0 0 or 12 0 1 ? How long after a launch of VW are you noticing the drop in speed? When you say it slows to a crawl, how long do specific operations take? What kind of drawings are these? How large are the drawings? How much memory do you have in the computer? What other applications are running? What types of operations are you doing while in these files? Are the files stored on the local computer or a network drive? Is there any common thread between the computers this is happening to vs. the computers that it is not happening to? (Such as hardware, other running apps, type of work being done.. etc. ) Quote Link to comment
Tom4
Katie, I am running 12.0 and will update it this afternoon to 12.1. I will need time to get all the information you asked for so I'll have to get back to you on Monday or Tuesday the latest. Thank you for your interest in helping with this problem.
